About

Nadis is a Survival-Royale game. This means players aren't in direct competition. Players are forced to survive a natural disaster by building a base to protect their totem. If a totem is destroyed that player loses the round. Players who win will be rewarded with XP where they can upgrade their character to give them advantages in the next game. Players will have to fight for resources: building materials, power, and space. Each match will be given a time limit and determine a disaster, Ex. asteroids, volcano eruption, tsunami, hurricane, fire, or even nuclear blasts. Leading up to the time limit smaller disasters will occur and players will be warned slightly in advance by the islands built in sirens. If a player dies before the disaster they will be given another chance to survive the disaster, but will have to wait a certain time before they respawn.

Progress

This game is currently only being developed by one person. However, I have dedicated many hours of my days to completing this project. So far Island Generation(Island, Foliage, & Water), Player mechanics and procedural animations, and networking have all been added, creating the foundation for more features. Currently I am working on:

  • Map Performance
  • Power System: charging stations, power stats, power management, & net code integration
  • Player Model & Procedural Animation Improvements
  • Matchmaking & Server browsing
